Annual Report Rating 2013

Swiss Annual Report Rating 2013

The Swiss Annual Report Rating encompassed the annual reports of all listed companies represented on the SPI, as well as the 50 top revenue-generating companies in 2011, the 15 insurance companies with the highest gross premium in 2011, and the 25 banks with the highest reported total assets in 2011 (sample size: 234 reports).

This sample was evaluated by three juries in succession: firstly by the Department of Banking and Finance jury (value reporting), which evaluated both the print annual reports and the corresponding online investor relations pages, and secondly by a design jury headed by Peter Vetter, Zurich University of the Arts, which also evaluated print and online.

Once these two juries had completed their deliberations, a shortlist of 12 top-rated annual reports (online and print) was produced, from which the final jury selected the three overall winners.

The design jury

The design jury ranked the top three companies as follows:

1st place: Geberit

Value reporting

The Swiss Banking Institute ranked the top three companies as follows:

The overall winners for their annual reports

The final jury was made up of representatives of the content and design juries, a representative from a firm of auditors, a financial analyst, a financial journalist, a corporate communications officer, two investor relations specialists and a communications consultant. The 12 annual reports and websites of the top-ranked companies were determined by adding together the ratings awarded by the first two juries.
